Sinphar upholds the philosophy of “life, health, and technology” and our mission is to promote human health. For decades, the Company focuses on developing safe, stable, effective, and convenient new and generic drugs, health supplements, cosmetic products and natural plant extraction raw materials with the goal give the consumers the best quality of life. While pursuing operational performance, the Company abides by corporate governance principles, upholds operations integrity, actively assumes social responsibilities, follows environmental protection issues, and engages in social welfare, in the hope to make a positive influence on our society and promote sustainable development in economic, environment, and society.

Environmental Protection

Energy Conservation, Emission Reduction, and Quantitative Management

1. The Company passed ISO-14001 standards in environmental protection and (1) implemented the complete and timely data collection and evaluation on the environmental impact of operational activities; (2) established measurable environmental protection goals and created management plans and regularly review and track their sustainability and correlation.
2. Implemented AI in managing the factory. From factory floorplan design and setup to production processes, the Company demands the highest standard to reduce resource and energy consumption and reduce the emission of pollution and increase the reuse and recycling of waste.
3. Replace oil-fired boiler with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) boiler. The boiler tonnage is reduced by 70%.
4. Installed waste heat recovery system, which can cutdown the consumption of LPG by 5-7% every hour. This improves energy efficiency and reduces the carbon emission and air pollution of the factory.
5. The Company implements energy management and analysis every year. It also monitors energy consumption to meet government’s requirements on conserving 1% of electricity every year and 5% for five years.
6. Installed liquid desiccant dehumidification system in 2017 to reduce electricity consumption by 10% every year. In 2018, invested in new air conditioning system with interlock controls, which reduced electricity consumption by 2% every year. The following year, turned down and optimized cold water equipment temperature resulting in the reduction of electricity consumption by 1% every year.
7. Installed waste water treatment facility and water management system to prevent contaminants from entering into water source, air and soil.
8. Implemented waste reduction and recycling policy and set up waste control policy.

Social Responsibilities

Social Welfare and Equality

1. With Chairman Office as the coordinator, human resources and each department together implement the corporate social responsibilities goals, which were established by the management team.
2. The Company complies with relevant labor acts, establishes labor standards to protect employees’ rights and create a diverse and equal workplace.
3. Setup Employee Welfare Committee and labor union that are responsible for employee benefits and welfare, such as holding walking events and providing gift certificates. Five labor-management meetings were held in 2021.
4. Established supplier management policy, which includes regulations related to environmental protection, occupational safety and health, and labor rights, that suppliers are required to follow.
5. Sinphar upholds the philosophy of “Public’s health is Sinphar’s ideal”. We develop drugs, generic drugs, health supplements, and aesthetic medicine products to safeguard the public’s health and enhance the quality of life.
6. For protection of consumer rights, the Company implemented customer complaint management procedures to provide transparency and effectiveness.
7. The Company actively gives back to the community by engaging in social benefit activities and charities, such as adopting street lights and trails, holding free medical clinics, sponsoring sporting, cultural, and preventative health events…etc.
8. From 2022 to 2024, the Company co-sponsors the Yilan Marathon with Yilan County government and donates of NT$8 million.
9. The Company donated NT$30 million to National Health Research Institutes and Formosa Cancer Foundation for new drugs R&D and medical subsidy. Also, the Company set up the Aged-related Macular Degeneration Research Center with National Taiwan University Hospital to develop the technology of early diagnosis of Aged-related Macular Degeneration.
10. The Company hosts biomedical forums and biotech camps, which integrate ideas on current public health concerns, and cultivate biotech talents. Additionally, Sinphar Counters hold “Health Workshop” across Taiwan to promote health care knowledge.


Corporate Governance

Ethical Corporate Management and Sustainable Development

1. To strengthen functions of Board of Directors and following Corporate Governance Principles, the Company establishes Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee to supervise the implementation of internal control system and material financial procedures, improve operational efficiency, avoid financial malpractice, and protect shareholders’ interests.
2. Ethical corporate management is the core value and corporate culture of Sinphar. In addition to complying with laws, the Company has established measures to prevent unethical conduct, and to require that directors, managers, and employees shall not offer and/or accept bribes or participate in any illegal activities. Sinphar has a designated e-mail address and independent investigating system for anonymous reporting on integrity violation. During employee monthly gatherings, Board of Directors meetings and new employee initiation, the Company regularly communicates information on ethical corporate management, insider trading prevention, security and intellectual property management...etc.
3. The Company’s website has a dedicated section for stakeholders (e.g. shareholders, employees, government, community/non-profit organization, customers, suppliers, and media). Any comment may be sent directly to the Company.
4. The Company establishes potential risk factors related to operations and setup a management mechanism for assessing, monitoring and responding to the impact of risk exposure.
